Hamton is a privately owned property development company, owned and operated by Steve Buxton and Paul Hameister, and supported by a team of talented property professionals. Hamton has around $475m of new projects underway. Its directors have completed around $250m of development projects.
Hamton specialises in the Melbourne market with current projects primarily in the boutique medium density residential apartment and townhouse market, but with activities that span other sectors, such as commercial, retail and industrial.
Hamton's operating philosophy ensures that its development projects are not just based on economic viability, but also environmental sustainability, design creativity and cultural and community outcomes. It calls this "our quadruple bottom line".
Other recent projects include MGV, 67 apartments in Malvern; Rize3121, 72 townhouses in Richmond; The Rathdowne, 14 apartments in Carlton; and, Abito, which comprises 35 apartments in Fitzroy. Hamton recently won awards for its Abito project. In July 2007, Hamton was named winner of the RAIA Victorian Architecture Award in the Residential Architecture Multiple Housing category, and in December 2006, Hamton won the esteemed UDIA award for Best Medium Density Development in Victoria.
